I feel your pain. It's hard to figure out what your style is. You can spend a lot of time and money on the right style and clothes to "fit in" with your friends, but they look bad on you and worse, you feel uncomfortable, which exacerbates the whole problem.

I'm an older person and it honestly took me 15/20 years to establish my style and be comfortable with who I am, despite a lot of help from friends over the years. Traveling with someone who has good fashion sense and can be trusted to be honest helps a lot... and can be fun.
